PVC membrane LOGICROOF V-GR is approved for green roofing

26.02.2021

Premium-quality PVC membrane LOGICROOF V-GR by TECHNONICOL has successfully passed the root resistance test according to the standard DIN EN 13948 and FLL Green Roofing Guideline (Guideline for the Planning, Construction and Maintenance of Green Roofing), which is recognized as the benchmark set of regulations for green roofing in Germany. The FLL Green Roofing Guideline is also widely accepted abroad and serves in some countries as the basis for developing their own regulations.

The test was carried out in Braunschweig (Germany) and took 2 years. During this time, the experienced scientists have grown a small garden with beautiful Pyracantha Coccinea ’Orange Charmer’ and ubiquitous Couch Grass (Agropyron Repens) planted right on our PVC membrane. The results of such a long test have confirmed that LOGICROOF V-GR has a complete root resistance and thus is recommended for use in green roof solutions.

Green roofs perform a vital role in helping cities adapt to the effects of climate change by reducing the need for artificial cooling in hot weather and attenuating or capturing rainwater runoff, as well as providing a range of habitats for wildlife. However, green roofs can only provide these environmental benefits if designed and installed in a way that ensures that all performance criteria are met. Therefore, only suitable materials and reliable construction systems should be used to achieve a durable result.
