TECHNONICOL supplied about 20,000 m² of LOGICBASE V-SL PVC waterproofing membrane for the Atul tunnel in Himachal Pradesh. In a mountain tunnel, water and temperature changes act on the lining for decades, with very little access for repair, so the waterproofing has to be dependable from the first day.
LOGICBASE V-SL is a non-reinforced membrane made by co-extrusion from premium plasticised PVC, and its joints are made by hot-air welding. Its signal layer on the top surface makes any damage easy to spot and repair before the lining is cast. The membrane stays flexible at low temperatures (foldability down to -30 °C), which suits the cold climate of the Himalayan region.
