Synthetic membranes
TECHNONICOL offers a range of synthetic polymer membranes designed for a range of functions to ensure that you achieve maximum waterproofing for your next project.
Advantages of synthetic waterproofing membranes
TECHNONICOL's synthetic membranes can be divided into two main categories: PVC and HDPE membranes. Advantages of PVC membranes include high durability thanks to the use of only premium-quality polymers and the latest co-extrusion technology, resistance to dynamic and static impacts, low-temperature elasticity, chemical stability and high tensile strength. HDPE synthetic membranes are produced by extrusion method on a base of high-density polyethylene. The main advantage is the strength of these membranes – they are primarily used for the protection of the main waterproofing layer. In addition, the material is very lightweight and easy to install.
Types of synthetic membranes
As noted, TECHNONICOL’s synthetic membranes can be divided into two groups: PVC and HDPE-based membranes.
PVC membranes include the following options:
- LOGICROOF V-RP is used primarily on flat roofs given its high weather resistance, UV stability and puncture resistance. It is joined using hot air welding or overlaps.
- LOGICROOF V-RP FB uses a similar design to the LOGICROOF V-RP with the addition of geotextile fleece for improved adhesion on flat roofs, requiring glue for adhesion and similar joining methods.
- LOGICROOF V-GR provides an excellent waterproofing layer for ballasted and inverted flat roofs, as well as green roofs, thanks to the glass fiber reinforcement that grants additional puncture resistance and mechanical stability, essential components where further contact will be routinely made after installation.
- LOGICBASE V-SL is used primarily for tunnels and foundations due to its exceptional waterproofing properties, outstanding elongation and chemical resistance. Hot air is used to join sheets and PVC rondels are used to attach the membrane to walls and tunnels, with the yellow top layer providing an immediate indication if the material is damaged and requires repair.
- LOGICBASE V-ST is a non-reinforced PVC membrane that is used in double-layer systems, creating a vacuum effect between layers that amplifies water and puncture resistance.
- LOGICBASE V-PT is another non-reinforced PVC membrane that is specifically designed as a protective layer for waterproofing systems, with hot air welding being the means of joining this synthetic membrane to already existing waterproofing system.
Dimpled HDPE membranes are used in the following formats:
- PLANTER standard is a dimpled membrane that provides additional protection for waterproofing membranes, moisture reduction in damp walls and enhanced foundation stability given its resistance to mold, bacteria, root penetration as well as UV light.
- PLANTER geo is another dimpled membrane that, in addition to waterproofing membranes, offers improved drainage for ballasted and green roofs as well as for foundations.
